Off-line Stations
PRT vehicles bypass stations they don't need to stop at
PRT stations are on sidings, off of the main line. The ability to bypass stations enables PRT trips to be non-stop: a vehicle doesn't have to stop until it delivers you to your destination. Here are some illustrations and models depicting this principle.
Top: if siding is linear, pods arrive and
depart in order.
Bottom: With an independent loading area pods can pass each other.
